Cold River Ranters are Coming to The Mole Hill Theatre

ALSTEAD, NEW HAMPSHIRE - On Saturday, July 5, the Cold River Ranters are bringing their "Hot Primitive Gonzo Folk Jive" to the Mole Hill Theatre in Alstead, New Hampshire. The band features Lempster, New Hampshire's Skillet Walker on steel resonator guitar and vocals; Tom Jawbone of Keene and Acworth on banjo, flute, bagpipes, penny whistle, bones, jug, jaw harp and vocals; Nattie Carroll of Keene and Acworth on accordion and washboard, Henniker's comic genius Marek Bennett on green metal drum bass, Duncan "Bones" Mc Elroy of Worcester, Massachusetts on saxophone and clarinet and cider maker and fiddler extraordinaire Hellen Doyle.

This dynamic and entertaining band combines an American-roots feel with dashes of third world seasonings. The melodies reflect various cultural traditions-Appalachian, Irish, Celtic Brittany, African and even South Asian - but the band’s original lyric writings are one-of-a-kind. Blood-and-guts vocal stylings fuel the band’s high energy repertoire, balanced by the mandolin player’s more traditional delivery.

Tickets are just $10 (B.Y.O.B.) A "Dessert Potluck" beginning at 7:3o and the shoiw starts at 8:00. The Mole Hill Theatre is located at 789 Gilsum Mine Road in Alstead, New Hampshire.
