Coming to Next Stage: Moonlight Davis Sings Stevie Wonder

PUTNEY, VERMONT – Moonlight Davis will appear at Next Stage on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Next Stage at 7:30pm.

One of New England's most powerful and soulful vocalists, Moonlight Davis has been thrilling audiences for decades with his compelling renditions of soul, gospel, blues and jazz repertoire. Moonlight is well known for the intense emotional impact and mature musicality that he brings to every performance.

Moonlight has shared the stage with the late, legendary Billy Preston and has performed with local musical luminaries: Charles Neville, Samirah Evans, Evelyn Harris, Miro Sprague and Derrik Jordan, among others. Since 1992, he has performed with his wife Morning Star Chenven in the musical duo, “Moonlight and Morning Star.”

For this special event, Moonlight turns his focus to the music of the legendary Stevie Wonder, presenting a high-energy concert with a world-class band. Musical director Miro Sprague has assembled a group of extraordinary musicians with extensive national and international touring experience. The band and backup singers fuel the fire of Moonlight’s electrifying interpretations of Wonder’s classic material. At a recent sold out show in Massachusetts they had audiences dancing in the streets. Get your tickets early, this show will sell out!

The Band: Moonlight Davis - lead vocals, Miro Sprague - musical director, piano, keyboards, Jason Ennis - guitar, Jon Suters - bass, Conor Meehan - drums. Also special guests: Don Anderson - trumpet, Doug Tanner - harmonica, backing vocalists "The Wonder Women Trio" of Morning Star Chenven, Lou Leelyn, Laurie Didonato.
